Life on the road.

Chicago: We’ve made it to the windy city.. Not so windy here, but rainy. Here is where we finally had our car wrapped and while that is happening we decided to go camping at the Indiana Sand Dunes State Park. Right on Lake Michigan. Sure, we all know about the  great lakes. Well After visiting the Sand Dunes, I’ve come to the conclusion that they are absolutely beautiful. I could not grasp the concept of calling it a lake because it was just so massive. We spent the first day in our tent  and exploring some local towns near by because it was raw. Temps were 32 when we arrived and raining. The next day was supposed to be around 67 degrees and sunny so we decided to hit the trails around the park. They were stunning. With views from atop a bird watching perch, and from tops of sand dunes, to overlooking the great lake was incredible. We spent the afternoon on the trails and then walked roughly a little over a mile of the beach back to our camp ground. With all the beauty in this c

Nebraska & Kansas

There was one last thing I missed in my last blog. In our travels across Iowa and into Nebraska we stopped at a rest station to fill up on gas and to use the restrooms. As I said when I first started blogging, these rest stops would become frequent in our road trips across long states. This however was the weirdest thing yet at one. I walked into the restroom stall, to notice this very odd thing for a toilet, I walked out thinking it was a handicapped stall. I proceeded to the next door, to see the same thing. Hmm. I didn't care anymore, I had to pee. I shut the door and turned to drop my pants and I noticed on the door a sign that says (seats heated for your convenience). WHAT THE?! That's just nasty. Let me just rant for one second before I get into my travels in Nebraska and Kansas. THAT IS JUST GROSS! It's bad enough you have no idea who the heck has sat on that seat, or what they were doing while sitting on it. It's bad enough us ladies have to squat and hover li

Iowa City, Iowa & Great Hospitality

Neither one of us were looking forward to being in Iowa. We had no idea that the one place we thought was going to be the most boring, actually was one we will never forget. We spent the morning driving from Bloomington, MN to Iowa City. We made our usual pit stop to take our photo at the welcome sign. We had plans to camp for about 4 days. We didn't stay in a national park, as we couldn't find one near Iowa City. We had an event scheduled at Fin & Feather while being here. This was going to be a unique event as it was technically a 2 day event for us. The first night would be us at the retail store giving our usual presentation and then the following day we would be at their small lake where they have rental kayaks and paddle boards teaching and helping women get inspired to try them out! We were both pretty excited about this event. We arrived at Lake McBride State Park in the afternoon. There wasn't many other campers there just yet, as it was a weekday when
