Portland, Oregon

  When was the last time you did something for the first time?   Oregon was a very short lived trip by far. We packed up out tent site at Olympic National Park and headed south towards Portland, OR. Here we would drop Josh off to head back home and we would keep heading to Portland REI for our event that night. This was the first event we had attended not showered, and barely any clean clothes. Which made for good laughs throughout the night. We were also fortunate enough to have had a friend and his wife out in Portland visiting their sons and had rented a house for the week we would be there. They invited us to stay with them for the 2 nights. We took them up on that offer, seeing as though being so far away for so long, it was always nice to be around friends. Olympic National Park Pt. 2 (Seven Lakes Basin/ High Divide Loop)

In every walk with nature one receives more than he seeks.                                                          -John Muir In search for long hikes possibly overnights while Josh was in town with us, he found one I will never forget. The 7 Lakes Basin High Divide Loop. This is a hike most would do in 2 days. Almost 21 miles.. The trail head started at the end of the road from our campground at Sol Duc. We started at a decent time, not too early and not too late. We had a long day ahead of us.
