a trail to self discovery...

June 10, 2014 It’s been just over a month since hitting the road for this gig. I can’t believe the amount of stuff I have already seen in such a short period of time. Last time I posted I was in Iowa City headed to Omaha, NE. Omaha was a very short lived trip and then on to Kansas City, MO. Which also, was incredibly short lived.  Yoga @ Glacier Basin CG The morning of May 30th rolled around and I was so excited to make the long haul to Rocky Mountain National Park for a few days off. Not to mention we would be in Colorado for just about 2 full weeks! Colorado has been a place I have always wanted to visit my entire life. I always wondered what the Rockies looked like form the ground up, and not just from a plane high in the sky down. Boy, was I in for a treat. Just about 10 hours on the road that morning we finally arrived at our campground at Glacier Basin, right in RMNP. It was quite cloudy and chilly when we arrived and early evening, so not the views I had looked

I don't typically write about stuff like this, but this is worth writing about. After Colorado, our plans were to head back East to Ohio for our next event. We cancelled that event and instead Becca drove me from Colorado all the way to Boston in 2 and half days. I was a mess. Arriving back in MA, Becca dropped me off at my moms where I would be for the next couple days. Becca then went north to NH and VT for a couple days to see friends. I was in no way mentally prepared for the next couple days. Let me start with a little bit of a background. I have spent my entire life surrounded by drugs and alcohol. I have watched people scream, yell, fight physically, and I learned not to follow in those footsteps of whom I watched teach me how. When I was in about 1st or 2nd grade, my father, an alcoholic among many other things I'm sure, decided to burn our house down while everyone was sleeping inside. Still in awe and the joy of climbing my first 14,000 foot mountain and witnessing my first tornado I was ready for some fun. Becca and I were off to our first of 3 festivals. FIBARK, First in Boating on the Arkansas. This was a white water festival. Lots of boater come from all over to play on the water for 3 days straight. It takes place in Salida, CO. It is a very small town, for such a large event. We found a campground that had electricity, showers, and Wi-Fi. I couldn't more more thankful for this considering we just came from Pikes National Forest and camped there for 4 days, with none of the above. Also, we knew we would need the electricity for doing some work and having our electronic charged for the festival. The first day of the festival was us, basically just trying to figure it out. Gathering all of our stuff that was shipped to us there, including our pop-up tent and boxes and boxes of freebies to give out over the next 3 days. We arrived early, unloaded the ca
