Mount Marcy Trip

This plan was made the first day Laura and I met. While hiking up Garfield we talked about vacation and how Laura would be taking a week off in August and wanted to do a trip to the Adirondacks. I said sign me up! Time started to creep up on us fast and before we both knew it vacation was here. We were only a few days out from this trip and making last minute plans to head to the Dacks for a couple days. Our plan was to head out early Sunday morning and come back either late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. Laura and I were going to backpack with the pups, but decided after the previous weekends adventure carrying all of our weight plus the weight for 3 dogs wasn't going to happen. We opted for car camping and some day hikes instead. She mentioned she had a camping spot she knew about and it was free. I had no qualms with free what so ever. We agreed she would meet at my place at 8:30am, we would grab some groceries and then head to New York from there. We had a but o

Laura tagged me in her story feed on Instagram. She was in need of a friend who wanted to make an overnight trip into the woods with her last minute. My response as followed: "Is that even a question?" Laura: "Yayyy hahaha this is why I love you" Then it was all about the plan. Where to go? So many options. How many miles? So many miles. I suggested a beautiful loop I had hiked in a day before. This would help prevent us to have to car spot with 3 dogs. The plan was to meet at the North Twin trail parking lot at 9:30am on Saturday. From there we would hit the trail for about 1 mile before connecting onto the Fire Wardens Trail. This would then take us roughly 3.6 miles up to the summit of Mount Hale. After summiting Hale we would continue to Lend-a-Hand Trail, Zealan

I was already ramping up for winter fun and looking at buying a new set of skis. The set of skis I have been using for nearly the last 5 years of living up here were given to me by a friend. They were great considering I still was not 100% confident on skis to begin with. 3:00am Morning after Surgery This year I decided, I deserve new skis! Also, I had purchased a pair of AT boots for back country skiing the winter prior- to then never use them due to lack of snow on the ground. The fall came and went and before I knew it we were getting dumped on with snow storm after snow storm. Everyone was out getting their first turns of the season in and I was anxious to do the same. A few of my friends invited me out for New Years Eve night skiing for locals at Bretton Woods. Given it was one $12 for 2 people it was well worth the money spent. I me
